Overview:
This course is a step-by-step guide to understanding racism and avoiding unlawful discrimination. This course introduces and explains the key elements of Britain’s race relations legislation. It is especially useful for people who have had no previous training in this area.
By the end of this course, participants should understand the following:
- General principles, such as what racism is, what is meant by institutional racism, and what is positive action;
- What direct and indirect racial discrimination is;
- What victimisation is;
- What harassment and bullying is;
- What you must do to comply with the Race Relations Act; and
- What your employer must do to comply with the Act.
