Question: Why should I consider online learning?
Answer:
Online learning is one of the most cost-effective and efficient ways of training your employees. It delivers top quality learning material to everyone, and with guaranteed consistency. We deliver more learning material in one hour than most traditional methods deliver in a day.
Face-to-face courses in equality and diversity often cost around £75 per person. Our online courses start at £5.00 per person. This makes equality and diversity training affordable for all employees.
Online courses can be done anywhere, anytime by anyone with a computer and an Internet connection.
Question: How long does an online course take to complete?
Answer:
Most of our courses take an hour or less to complete. Comparable face-to-face courses usually take at least one day. Online learning considerably reduces the need for expensive time away from work.

Question: How is the editsOTS online training system delivered?
Answer:
EditsOTS is a web-driven online learning system, based on the latest database technology. Courses are delivered via your Internet Browser, and no additional software or hardware is required. The only exception is for people who need to listen to a course. They have the option of using text-to-speech software called Browsealoud.
Question: Is your online learning suitable for people who don’t read English, or who are dyslexic?
Answer:
Yes. We use text-to-speech software called Browsealoud. This can be activated for anyone who wants to listen to the course, instead of reading it. To use Browsealoud, you need a computer with a soundcard and speakers, or headphones.
Question: I am partially sighted and need to use large font. Can I increase the font size when I’m doing one of your courses?
Answer:
Yes. There is a button on the top right of every page that allows you to make font sizes larger or smaller at any point.
Question: Do I have to do my course at work?
Answer:
No. You can do your course form anywhere. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection, and your password information.
Question: What do I get from doing one of your courses?
Answer:
You increase your knowledge and awareness of the equality and diversity, and why discrimination is unacceptable in the workplace. At the end of a course, you also get a course certificate with your score printed on it. This can be useful when applying for jobs and promotion.
Question: Who developed your software?
Answer:
Our EditsOTS software is developed and hosted by Biznet, one of the most innovative and forward thinking e-solution providers.
Question: What happens when I choose to enter sensitive personal information, such as my religion or disability? How do I know it’s secure and won’t be given to anyone?
Answer:
Sensitive personal information, such as your religion or belief, disability and sexual orientation is encrypted as soon as you enter it. This means that it’s changed to a special computer code that is impossible to read. This protects your information. The computer analyses it to produce tables of aggregate percentages.
Employers need to know about the diversity of their employees. It helps them to make sure they’re not discriminating against any particular groups. Your employer may ask you for some personal information such as your gender, or ethnicity. You’re not obliged to give it, but it’s very helpful if you do.
Question: Is editsOTS compliant with SCORM and e-GIF?
Answer:
Yes. EditsOTS software is compliant with SCORM and e-GIF industry standards.
Question: How easy is it for employers to monitor the take up of editsOTS courses by its employees?
Answer:
Employers have access to a confidential Client Zone that gives their designated Training Manager the facility to monitor how many employees are using the course, and their scores. The Client Zone allows the Training Manager to download a range of information reports as required. The reports are invaluable as an automated audit trail. Sensitive personal information about employees is encrypted on entry. This means that it cannot be seen by anyone, including the Training Manager.
